Ingredients

  • 2 cups semolina
  • ½Cup coconut
  • 1 cup sugar

  • ½Cup water
  • ½Cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp Peking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Shira (Qatar)

Method of preparation

  1. Put semolina in a bowl with coconut, sugar, milk, baking powder and vanilla and stir until well mixed .
  2. Add oil, yogurt and water and stir well until the ingredients are completely mixed .
  3. Grease the oven tray with oil or tahini and put the basbousa dough in it and level the surface, cover and let rest for ten minutes .
  4. We heat the oven to 180 degrees, enter the tray and leave it for about half an hour until it acquires a golden color from the tips and turn on the oven grill until it acquires a color from above .
  5. We take it out, let it rest a little, then pour over it the Shera and leave it until you drink it completely .
  6. After completely cooled, cut it and put it in a serving dish and thus be ready .
