How to make an orange (basbousa)

  • 3 eggs
  • ½Cup sugar
  • ½Cup oil
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup semolina
  • Sprinkle 1 orange
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 Peking powder envelope
  • For watering basbousa:
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • ½Cup orange juice

Method of preparation

  1. Put in a bowl both eggs and sugar and beat with an electric whisk well .
  2. Add oil, juice, orange zest and semolina and beat well .
  3. Add the flour and baking powder and stir until ingredients are completely combined .
  4. Lightly grease an oven tray with oil and advised further and put it in the oven at 175 for about 35 minutes and then get it out and let it cool .
  5. Mix sugar and water, put on fire until it boils, let it boil about 8 minutes, then add orange juice and let it boil for two or three minutes .
  6. Pour the hot mixture over the basbousa and let it rest for two hours, then cut it and be ready to serve .
