How to make a Turkish Revani cake

Revani cake is a dessert that resembles a semolina basbousa consisting of eggs, yogurt, semolina and sugar, which is watered by the Shira when it comes out of the oven and is very tasty, easy and quick to prepare .

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup soft semolina
  • 1 cup yogurt milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½Cup vegetable oil
  • 1 Peking powder envelope
  • 1 vanilla envelope
  • To prepare Shira (diameter):
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 cups sugar
  • Juice ½ lemon

Method of preparation

  1. We begin to prepare the Shira, put in a saucepan both sugar and water and stir over high heat until the mixture boils .
  2. Add the lemon juice and bring to a boil for a few minutes, then let cool aside .
  3. Put in a bowl both eggs and sugar and beat until the mixture rises .
  4. Add oil, yogurt, soft semolina and beat well .
  5. Add the flour, vanilla and baking powder and get out until ingredients are completely combined .
  6. Grease the Pyrex mold or tray with oil, put in the mixture and then put in the oven at 170 for 30 minutes .
  7. We take the cake out of the oven, cut it and then pour over the Shira and leave it for at least two hours until the Shira is completely absorbed .
  8. Then the delicious Rawani semolina cake is ready to serve .
