Ingredients

  • To prepare basbousa:
  • 1 cup coarse semolina
  • ½Cup water
  • ½Cup oil
  • 1 cup milk powder
  • ½Cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon Peking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa
  • ½Cup cream
  • To prepare the cheese layer:
  • 8 cream cheese kernels
  • ½Cup sweetened condensed milk
  • For watering basbousa:
  • 1 cup liquid milk
  • 1 cup sugar

Method of preparation

  1. Mix the milk and sugar, put in a saucepan over high heat to a boil, then simmer for ten minutes and let cool aside .
  2. Put in a bowl all of semolina, milk powder, sugar, cinnamon, cocoa, vanilla, baking powder and flour and stir well .
  3. Add cream, oil and water and stir well .
  4. Grease the oven tray with butter from the bottom and sides, pour in the mixture and put in the oven at 180 heat for about 20 minutes .
  5. We remove it from the oven, pierce it, then water it with milk and sugar mixture, cover with nylon and set aside .
  6. Put cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk in a bowl and whisk together .
  7. Put the mixture on top of the basbousa, level and put in the refrigerator for at least two hours, then sprinkle with cinnamon, cut and serve .
