  • To prepare caramel:
  • ½Cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • To prepare the cake:
  • ½Cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 egg whites
  • ½Teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 12⁄3 cup flour
  • 2 tsp Peking powder
  • ½Cup milk

Method of preparation

  1. Put the sugar and water in a pan and leave it on low heat until it melts and caramels then distribute it in the cake tray and arrange the pineapple slices after it .
  2. Put in a bowl both butter and sugar and stir well .
  3. Add the egg yolks and stir the ingredients well together, then add the salt and vanilla and stir .
  4. Sift over the ingredients both flour and baking powder then add the milk and stir well until the mixture is no lumps .
  5. Put the egg whites in another bowl, beat until light and dense, add to the previous mixture and stir gently until the ingredients are completely mixed .
  6. Put the mixture in a cake tray over the pineapple slices and place in a preheated oven at 170 degrees for 35-40 minutes .
  7. Let the cake cool completely and then pass the knife on the outskirts of the cake and transfer him to a serving dish so be ready .
