The way the winter salad works

Winter salad makes this recipe in just five minutes. It is a salad of Arabic origin prepared for the winter and prepared as an appetizer along with your main course, its ingredients are cabbage, fresh chickpeas, bulgur and leek with a mixture of spices and various flavors.

Ingredients for preparing winter salad:

  • – 1 avocado
  • – 2 cups chopped cabbage
  • – 1/4 cup bulgur
  • – 1 cup of chickpeas
  • – 1/4 cup chopped leek or red onion
  • – 3 cloves of garlic, mashed with a teaspoon of salt
  • – 1 lemon juice
  • – 1/3 cup (or more) of olive oil
  • – 2 tablespoons of sumac
  • – 2 tablespoons of dried mint powder

 Preparation methodwinter salad :

  1. Finely chop the cabbage and place it in a large bowl (to prepare the serving bowl))
  2. Peel the chickpeas and place in a bowl with the cabbage.
  3.  Put the bulgur in a small bowl and then add very hot water, and grains to activate for 10 minutes or until tender.
  4. Then dry the bulgur, pressing it to get excess water out of it.
  5.  Put the bulgur in the bowl with the cabbage slices and chickpeas too .
  6. Peel the garlic cloves, place them in a food mortar with a pinch of salt and mash them into a paste.
  7. Then transfer the garlic puree to a small bowl and add the lemon juice, olive oil, sumac and mint .
  8. Beat them hard and transfer them to the large bowl.
  9. Mix all ingredients together when serving
  10. Then cut the avocado in half, remove the seeds and peel .
  11. Slice the avocado, decorate the salad with it.
